Bangkok GRAD held its October meeting at Grand Hyatt Erawan Bangkok on 27 October 2026, welcoming more than 50 participants for an evening of learning, conversation and community news.
Club President Egor Glukhov presented the club's initiatives and plans for upcoming activities. New members received their membership certificates, marking another step in the growth of Bangkok GRAD. The club continues to develop as a community where people living and working in Thailand can share experience, make connections and take part in activities together.
The evening's special guest was Evgeny Belenky, a Russian journalist and historian with more than 30 years of experience in Thailand and Southeast Asia. He heads the Southeast Asia regional bureau of the Rossiya Segodnya news agency and returned to Bangkok GRAD for his second appearance as a guest speaker.
His talk explored the historic role of the Thai monarchy in the 20th and 21st centuries. Evgeny offered a detailed account that helped participants deepen their understanding of Thailand's history and the place of the monarchy in Thai society. Members asked questions, making the discussion lively and informative.
The club also presented upcoming activities, including a visit to Thai Sturgeon Farm in Hua Hin on 28 November. The planned trip offers an introduction to sturgeon farming and black caviar production in a tropical climate, with a farm tour, caviar tasting and a group dinner. An optional visit to Monsoon Valley Vineyards is planned for the following day.
With new introductions, membership certificates, club initiatives and an in-depth historical discussion, the October meeting proved to be a full and rewarding evening.
Thank you to Evgeny Belenky for sharing his knowledge, and to everyone who attended, asked questions and contributed to the Bangkok GRAD community. We look forward to seeing you at our next events!
