Opening of the New Season

On July 29, 2025, the President of Rotary Club Bangkok GRAD, Mikhail Lebedev, officially opened the new season of our club. In his welcoming remarks, he reminded members of the club’s principles and mission, emphasizing the importance of serving the community, fostering international dialogue, and supporting initiatives that bring together people from diverse cultures and professions. After his address, he gave the floor to our special guest — Alexander Sidorov, Representative of Rossotrudnichestvo and First Secretary of the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Thailand.

“Cooperation between Russia and Thailand in Education and Youth Projects within a Business Context”

Key Highlights of the Presentation

Education and Scholarships

  • In the 2025–2026 academic year, 40 Thai students will begin their studies at Russian universities.
  • A scholarship program for 2026–2027 will be launched in September 2025, offering:
    • 5 places for postgraduate and residency training
    • 21 places for master’s programs
    • 12 places for bachelor’s and specialist programs
    • 2 places for additional and vocational education

Inter-University Cooperation

  • In December 2025, Rossotrudnichestvo will host a forum in China for alumni of Soviet and Russian universities working in education and healthcare across Asia.
  • Plans are underway to establish an association of Thai graduates from Russian universities to strengthen educational and business ties.

Youth Initiatives

  • The “New Generation” program annually brings together about 1,600 young people (aged 14–40) from around the world.
  • In 2025, Thai participants will take part in the Russian–Thai Business Dialogue at SPIEF-2025.

Culture and Language

  • The “Discover Moscow” project features:
    • Joint seminars and expert exchange
    • An “Emergency Medicine” course for journalists and volunteers
    • Programs dedicated to disaster response and protection of populations and territories
  • Support for the Russian language and traditional cultural values.
